Our Services

What is Supported Living?

Supported Living is residential services for adults with developmental disabilities who require long-term support to live in their own homes. South Shore Supported Living will provide the necessary supports for a person to live in their own home, become integrated into their community, and fully participate in community life. Each individual will have their own specialized plan based on their needs/wants.

Job Coaching

A supported employment coach, also known as a job coach, is a professional who assists individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining employment. They act as a bridge between the employee and the employer, providing support and guidance to both. Their role includes job development, on – the – job training, and ongoing support to ensure the employee’s success.

Personal Supports

The long-term goal is for all individuals to achieve success on their own. This means that SouthShore Supported Living will provide Personal Supports and guidance to increase the independence of all individuals.

This service helps the individual with everyday living such as eating; bathing; dressing; hygiene; and meal preparation. South Shore Supported Living also teaches the importance of safety and emergency procedures and home-related responsibilities.

Companionship

Another long-term goal is achieving socialization skills. This can be achieved in a group of peers or on a one-on-one basis. The service must be provided in direct relation to the individual’s support plan. We can help provide access to community activities that is likely to result in increased ability to access community resources. Other likely tasks could be light housekeeping, laundry, and self-care needs. This is a non-medical service.
